PR stunt,
mobilisation
14 year old Leah Sharibu was abducted, along with 109 others from her school in Dapchi, Yobe state, northern Nigeria. But while the other girls were released, Leah remained in captivity because she refused to renounce her faith.
How could we draw attention to her plight – one of so many tragic stories coming from this region? And how could we reflect a tiny fraction of the perseverance and tenacity that this young girl had shown?
THE 200-HOUR PROTEST
To mark 200 days since Leah’s abduction, we invited politicians, public figures, religious leaders and members of the public to each spend an hour in vigil outside the Nigerian High Commission in London.
Some came in groups, others came alone. Some protested and gathered signatures, while others sat in silent contemplation.
